6/7/2023 0 Comments Perc h310 firmware![]() I'm thinking about putting the 3x HDD's and 1 SSD on the Intel Z77. If I wanted to use all disks, I would have spent the extra dough on a 9260-8i, or even something better in the PCIe 3.0 category. Especially since Random Read/Writes may still suffer using this controller Also PCIe2 Bus ~3200MB/s'ish and each disk ~500MB/s. ![]() Sure, I could use all 8 SSD's, but they're different types (OCD), and I feel like that's a waste. ![]() I definitely want to create a RAID 0 partition using 4x SSD's as the OS. Done this a few time with the current install.ģx HDD Seagate 3TB (two for movies, one for personal data) I'll likely install the controller so that drivers get installed, then migrate my current image to a new RAID 0 partition, blah blah blah. (Everything is backed up, but I'd prefer the least amount of down-time). So, I'm essentially going to reconfigure my entire disk arrangement while, hopefully, being as non-destructive as possible. Now that I have a PERC h310 on it's way to my house that I picked up on eBay for $40, I'm looking for recommendations on how to arrange my disks to make the most sense, and also whether I should flash to LSI 9211-8i and what the benefits would be. A great chipset that is well supported, cheap, and VERY flexible for a number of configurations. My PC is limited to 6Gb/s SATA ports, so in my quest to mitigate this, I ran across the SAS2008 chipset.
